I love a good paranormal romance. Laurell K Hamilton’s “Anita Blake Vampire Hunter” series sunk its teeth into me, and kept me hooked to this very day. Too often though, the paranormal aspects become romanticised and no longer provide the scares they once did.
Widdershins came as a recommendation from my boyfriend and boy did it hit the spot. Do not let the cover fool you, this book has real charm.

Geek Out, a collection of trans and genderqueer romance stories, officially released this week. Monday saw my review of one of the included titles, Double Take, a sensual story of magic and science all taking place in ancient Egypt, featuring a genderqueer main character.
Today I present to you a guest post by Caitlin Ricci, author of Horse Crazy, another book in the bundle. I asked Caitlin if she could go into detail on how she approaches writing trans characters in her books and I loved her response.
Thank you Caitlin for taking the time to share with us on such a sorely needed topic. Continue reading Bestselling Author Caitlin Ricci on Writing Trans Characters
Always a sucker for an Egyptian themed anything, I knew i’d be into this book as soon as I saw the cover. The description had me intrigued, what with the “magical science” and the hints at a steamy fling with a “handsome graduate student”. Of course I hit that download button.
WARNING: This is a book featuring adult sexual themes of a vivid nature. Do not pass go if you cannot handle this.

When originally released, Anita Blake Vampire Hunter established author Laurell K Hamilton as one of the original pioneers of the Paranormal Romance genre.
Now, 23 books later, the series has taken a swift turn towards more of the Romance, but is it any good?
[WARNING] This is an 18+ rated book featuring graphic descriptions of sex, and also includes some elements that may be triggering for those sensitive to such things. Consider yourself warned.

Happy 2015 everyone!
With a new year comes a new TBR list, and this year i’ve decided to make an effort to really mix up the books I read each month. My 2015 Goodreads Challenge is set at 60 books, which is my most ambitious yet. Is this optimism going to wane as the year goes on? Probably. Do I care? Not really, no, I do love a good book!
January is actually kicking off with 6 titles, though two of them are quite short in length so I should happily hit goal for January 2015.

Goodreads: A Shiver Of Light (Merry Gentry #9)
Laurell K Hamilton was the author that introduced me to Paranormal Romance, with her most popular character Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter. After consuming all of those, I in turn fell in love with her other big book series, featuring Meredeth Gentry, Faerie Princess. “A Shiver Of Light” is the ninth entry in the series, and I could barely contain my excitement when I saw it had finally released.
Since this the ninth book in the series, reading beyond this point will definitely spoil you on what has happened so far. You’ve been warned!

Generally my day to day entertainment choices come in cycles. I’ll obsessively watch anime for a week, then switch to compulsive gaming and so on. I’d been ignoring books for just a little while and felt like some online shopping was in order to rectify this horrible situation. Especially when I spied the glorious special edition of the classic The Picture of Dorian Gray (pictured above). Well this week my deliveries have been coming in and I thought i’d share them with you all. Continue reading Books & Manga; Some of my Recent Purchases
Way back in 2011 I fell in love with the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr. I was blown away by the fantasy world she created full of lively yet vicious faeries. So of course I was thrilled to find Graveminder in a discount book store a little while ago. Her first book aimed at adult paranormal/horror fans, I was eager to see what was so mysterious about the town of Claysville and its graves.
